集団自決跡地｜Mass-Suicide Memorial Site

渡嘉敷島の高台に静かに佇む 「集団自決跡地」。
1945年3月の沖縄戦で集団自決された方々を慰霊する石碑。
碑裏の静かな谷間で悲劇は起こりました。
当時、渡嘉敷島は沖縄本島上陸作戦の補給基地として利用されていた場所です。
ここで手を合わせ、平和への祈りを新たにしませんか。

Perched on a quiet hill, the “Mass Suicide Site” memorial on Tokashiki Island.
This stone monument honors those who took their lives in March 1945 during the Battle of Okinawa.
The tragedy unfolded in the ravine just behind the marker.
At the time, Tokashiki served as a supply base for the planned invasion of Okinawa’s main island.
